Wide Wavelength Bands |
. . . Why Wide Wavelength Bands Matter |
---|---|
|
|
100+ nm or 50+ nm Sweep Ranges |
---|
In the near-term, the Insight lasers cover roughly 100 nm span. This is defined as full power wavelength range, not the -3 dB, -6 dB, -010 dB or even -30 dB wavelength range other lasers specify. Much of the resolution information actually exists within the first and last part of the sweeps, so having more power near the ends can improve resolution. We also have 50 nm versions of the laser, for those applications that do not require the wider wavelength. |
1310 nm and 1550 nm Bands |
---|
Our initial products are at 1310 nm and 1550 nm. Center wavelength is generally within 10 nm. Over the life of a laser, the center wavelength will only vary by a maximum of 80 pm. |
1060 nm Band |
---|
There is a consortium of companies working with Insight to complete the 1060 nm akinetic swept laser. The same technology (with a modified substrate) is employed for 1060 nm as with the 1310 nm and 1550 nm devices. The electronic drive circuitry is identical for 1310 nm, 1550 nm and 1060 nm. Contact Insight for more information. First deliveries are anticipated in 2013. |
Additional Bands |
---|
If you have an application at other wavelengths, please contact Insight and we can discuss expansion of our akinetic all-semiconductor technology into your band of interest.. |
Ultra-Wide Wavelength Coverage |
---|
The VT-DBR technology will allow Insight to produce lasers with wavelength coverage of 140nm, and even wider in the future. If wide wavelength coverage is critical to your application, contact Insight to participate in this development.
